Reasons why people use advertising on printed posters is to get the attention of their viewers, hopefully brining in potential clients, and to make money. When printing a poster, it needs to be readable, legible, organized, and brief. This gets your message across to viewers easily and quickly.
Design
Clear thinking is the first step towards a clear design for you poster. After you know what your poster is going to be about it is easier to design. You want to design your poster so it grabs the attention of the viewer. There are all different sizes and shapes the you can choose from to make your poster unique.
A new design for posters that people can take with them is to have the fold marks already on them. This way they can fold into a nice sized pocket brochure. For posters that are going to be placed on windows it might be a good idea to have them printed on both sides of the paper so that the internal space of the room with the poster mounted on it features a message as well as the outside.
Choosing a Paper
There is a variety of paper that you can choose from when it comes to printing posters. Card stock, satin paper, matte paper, gloss paper, and watercolour paper are some of your choices. One common factor that all of these papers have is, is that it is all heavy weight paper.
Watercolour paper carries a premium over other paper types because UV-resistant archival inks are used. This means that the color should stay nice and bright on the page for at least 100 years – in most scenarios this will be more than adequate! Watercolour paper is recommended for maps, historical images, and lithographs.
Gloss paper is the second highest quality paper you can choose. Gloss paper is recommended for digital images and photography. It is also UV-resistant and the ink should stay bright for at least 100 years also.
Matte paper is another good choice for photographs. Not everyone likes to have the glossy shine on their pictures. It is also recommended for maps and historical images and really just depends on the preference of the end user.
Satin paper uses a dye-based ink. This is excellent for vibrant art and photo reproductions. Any type of image is appropriate for satin paper.
Last but not least is card stock. It is ultra heavy weight paper and when printed on it creates great depth of imagery. It is appropriate for all kinds of images. It is on the lower end of the scale price wise but still does a very nice job.
So when choosing a paper to print posters on it is important to consider what you want your image to look like for a reasonable price.

Friendship Maps $15.99 “Do you hunger to have a sense of where you are in God’s process, purpose, principles, and power at each crossroad in your life? Do you long to travel life’s journey with caring, friendly companions, a well-tested compass, and a trustworthy map? If so, then Friendship MAPS: A Journey through Maturity, Aspirations, Perspectives, and Struggles will point you in the right direction. Friendship is filled with possibilities, and the nature of our friendships often changes throughout our lives. It is a worthwhile endeavor to explore the potential that this person-to-person dynamic holds for each of us. By examining the scope of our maturity, aspirations, perspectives, and struggles (MAPS), we can see how these factors relate to our heart connections. Using the MAPS approach, you can explore the significance of your choices, the threat of superficiality, and the sufficiency of God’s grace as you seek to connect your heart with His and others. Just like the road maps stored in our cars or the GPS in our dashboard, Friendship MAPS provides markers for where we are and where we are going as we relate to those around us. The path that will lead us to good friendships is sometimes a rocky one. Therefore, it helps to have an excellent guidebook. With its solid foundation in biblical truth, Friendship MAPS: A Journey through Maturity, Aspirations, Perspectives, and Struggles fits the bill. Joy Williams has enjoyed over thirty years of friendships spanning geographical, generational, and cultural lines. Her commitment to Christ, coupled with the grace He has given her in life experiences, fuels her passion for each one of us to enjoy fulfilling friendships guided by God’s purposes. Joy lives inCharlotte, North Carolina with her husband, Brady, and their son. www.mapsinchrist.com” |

Maps In A Mirror $11.59 Maps in a Mirror brings together nearly all of Orson Scott Card’s short fiction written between 1977 and 1990. For those readers who have followed this remarkable talent since the beginning, here are all those amazing stories gathered together in one place, with some extra surprises as well. For the hundreds of thousands who are newly come to Card, here is chance to experience the wonder of a writer so versatile that he can handle everything from traditional narrative poetry to modern experimental fiction with equal ease and grace. The brilliant story-telling of the Alvin Maker books is no accident; the breathless excitement evoked by the Ender books is not a once-in-a-lifetime experience. In them the author reveals some of his reasons and motivations for writing, with a good deal of autobiography into the bargain. |

Faith Maps $10.79 In Faith Maps a theologian of great flair and originality ‘translates’ the voices of several leading thinkers into a series of reflections on faith and contemporary life and culture. The result is both a delightful introduction to theology and religion for students and general readers and a thought-provoking improvisation on familiar themes that will delight specialists. Gallagher devotes a separate chapter to each of ten writers who have explored the credibility of religious faith, beginning with John Henry Newman and ending with Joseph Ratzinger, now Pope Benedict XVI, due to visit the UK later this year. But, he writes, ‘I do not simply report on what they say. I offer a brief summary of their ideas but I also "translate" their vision into a more contemporary and less specialist idiom. What would they say today? Or, what do they inspire in me? As in music, they are variations on a theme with considerable freedom to go beyond their explicit statements.’ |
