Can you tell me what this game is?

Umm, there is this old game, and I don’t know what it’s called. It’s a computer game for PCs. There are several versions, cleverly marked with a roman numeral at the end, but basically it’s about this guy. And there was something about princess, and her name was really close to casino. I know that cause we used to make fun of her. The version I have played, started out with him wanting to save his princess friend. He gets stranded on a beach. He finds a coin under a piece of wood. You can go to a pawn shop and get like a bird, a flute, something i can’t remember, and a light thing with i think the words kindling or tinder box in the title. Umm there are places you can go to with a map. There is a hidden place, called like the mist or something. There is also a guy who likes mints and tries to get you to fall in the water and die. He works for the king, who lives in a castle and has dog guards. Oh, and I remember something about a talking tomatoe and stick in the mud.
